The Story Behind Never Give Up Day

The story behind Never Give Up Day is a deeply personal story. The idea for Never Give Up Day came to me after one of the lowest points in my life: a significant bankruptcy that shattered not only my dreams but also the future I thought I was building.

I found myself at an age where starting over wasn’t just difficult—it was almost unthinkable. Most people around me were settling into their lives, enjoying the success they’d worked for. Meanwhile, I had to start from scratch, with little credit given to my potential, and very few believing I could still achieve something meaningful.

In that period, I learned something profound: a true winner isn’t defined by how big they are, but by how small they can become and still dream big.

What I didn’t expect, however, was how lonely that journey would feel. Society often expects you to give up after a certain point. When you’ve hit rock bottom or are forced to take small, survival jobs, people expect you to “be realistic,” to let go of your dreams, and settle for what seems safe.

And because of that, never giving up almost became an embarrassment—something I kept to myself. I didn’t want to tell people that I still had big dreams, or that I was working to rebuild. It felt easier to hide my ambitions than to face the judgment of others who thought I should quit.

That’s where the idea of Never Give Up Day was born. It’s a day to change the narrative—a day where persistence, ambition, and resilience are celebrated. It’s a day where people can come out of the shadows with their goals, their dreams, and their determination, and be proud of their journey, no matter where they are on it.

Never Give Up Day is about encouragement, inspiration, and most of all, connection. It’s a day that says, “You’re not alone. Your dreams matter. And you have every right to keep fighting for them.”

That’s why I created it—not just for myself, but for the millions of others out there who need a reminder that perseverance isn’t just admirable, it’s transformative.
